I am here to present to you a new opportunity to bundle in with your Portrait Session: Add on your own personal Make-Up Artist: Debra!
I initially know Debra through a family friend. A year and a half ago I contacted her for my best friend's wedding; she needed an on-location make-up artist for the bridal party. Debra quickly responded back and was super easy to talk to and connect with. The experience with her on the client end was amazing.
Now I get to work with her on the professional level on the other end of the business! Connecting with Debra on this level has also been an awesome experience. She quickly lets me know her availability and current pricing so that I can quickly get back to my own clients and attend to their needs. I just wrapped up a session where we utilized Debra's services, you can see a few of those images at the top of my portfolio page. I let Deb know a blog post was coming...
So, I set out and gave her some homework!
Q: How long have you been doing Make-Up as a profession, and what made you pursue this path?
A: I have been doing makeup forever. With 2 daughters that did dance and cheering and more formal dances than I can count (or could afford), it only made sense that I would learn to do their makeup to save money. My ex-husband and I had started a small photo business and my daughter Samantha was one of our first guinea pigs. When we showed off her senior pics, people asked if we had hired a professional makeup artist to make her look so flawless. A light went off.....and so for 2 weeks straight, I traveled back and forth to Manhattan every single day to train with makeup pros in the film and television industry. The focus was not on color theory....it was on the same tools that photographers used. Light/reflection and dark/contrast. And with that knowledge, a small business was formed.
Q: What is your favorite thing about your job?
A: My favorite part of working with clients is easy!!!! I love helping to bring out the beauty in women. I love the expression on their faces when they catch that first glimpse in the mirror, when they see their own truest beauty. I don’t ever do makeovers that make a woman look like someone else. I don’t ever “overdo”. I simply allow them to become the very best version of themselves. All women are beautiful!!! Sometimes we just need a little help believing in that.
Q: What is the best way to contact you?
A: The Best way to contact me is through my Facebook page or by calling/texting me at 570-507-4524.
I am excited for the future working together and I hope everyone else is too!
Thanks for reading, as always!
